CaixaForum Barcelona nos invita , hasta el próximo 18 de octubre, a la exposición sobre el pintor francés: Maurice de Vlaminck, un instinto fauve. Pinturas de 1900 a 1915.
La exposición que le dedica la Caixa a este artista llega después de su exhibición el pasado año en el Museo de Luxemburgo, en París, con motivo del cincuenta aniversario de la muerte del pintor. La muestra se compone de 80 obras de Vlaminck, procedentes de 18 museos y colecciones de diez países. Considerado un artista clave para comprender el arte francés de principios de siglo XX. Se trata de un recorrido por el periodo más productivo del artista, con ejemplos de una primera etapa influenciado por el postimpresionismo, su iniciación al fauvismo y su alejamiento tras conocer a Cezanne.
Músico, escritor de novelas eróticas, ciclista de profesión y pintor autodidacta, heredó del impresionismo el interés por la pintura al aire libre, centró su atención en la naturaleza alejándose de las zonas urbanas. En la muestra hay estupendos paisajes, pintados desde el taller que compartía con Derain en las afueras de París. Con él conocerá y se acercará a la virulenta paleta de Van Goghque le influirá en el colorido y en la estética de sus obras.
“Fue el único pintor fauvista que no vivió en el sur de Francia. La luz mediterránea tuvo gran influencia en el movimiento, pero la explosión del color en él se produjo en los alrededores del Sena” señaló Maithe Vallès-Bled, comisaria de la exposición.
En 1905, junto con Matisse, se presentará al Salon de Otoño de Paris, donde recibirán el nombre de “fauves”, los salvajes, utilizando en sus obras los colores puros y cromatismos antinaturales. Donde el objetivo final de la obra es la expresión por medio del color y el propio acto de pintar.
